Java Client/Server Enterprise Programming

Last Update April 2, 1998

South Fork Software writes large scale client/server database applications in the Java language. A completed Java application is a 'package' of 'class files' (also called bytecodes). The same package of class files may be run on Apple Macintosh, UNIX, Win95 (or Win98, Win02, etc) and Network Station workstations. The same package of class files may access enterprise data located on AS/400, Win NT, UNIX and IBM Mainframe servers. Data may be located in almost any type of DataBase Management System (MS SQL server, Oracle, DB2, DB2/400, UDB, many others) on those servers. The same Java JDBC SQL statements can select and update data on most combinations of servers/databases by referencing one (of many active) Java connection object. Unlike ODBC there is no 'manager' outside the application and 'data sources' are connection objects, defined easily and dynamically in the application code.

South Fork Software also has extensive experience with AS/400, CA Clipper, dBase, Delphi and other client/server development environments. South Fork Software can quick start your Java development effort, by rewriting your applications in Java client/server, using the finnished Java application to teach your programmers Java client/server programming, and consult with your programmers on future development projects.

South Fork Software would like to put this experience to work for you.
